Germany is a Central and Western European country, officially known as the Federal Republic of Germany and bordering several countries like Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The country stretches from the North Sea and the Baltic in the north to the Alps in the south and with some of Europe's major rivers such as the Rhine, Danube and Elbe cutting across the landscape. Most of Germany has a temperate climate ranging from mild to cold winters to summers which can be hot and dry to cool and rainy.
